In the physical analysis, the mesh form is different from common finite element mesh, and the mesh form is generally polygonal. Because of the irregularity, the mesh and mesh property are mainly defined in text mode by manual work. However, manually editing the mesh and defining mesh properties exist some issues. For example, the data is not intuitive and error-prone. When the number of grid reached a certain level, filling the mesh property is a very large amount of work and data is not intuitive. So how to use the existing computer-aided design tools to achieve rapid division and defining the property of the mesh, outputting required mesh file in physical analysis, become one of the urgent need to be resolved in the current physical analysis.This paper presents a mesh de finition tool which physical analysis need. By interactively drawing mesh, automatic mesh identification, mesh definition and inherit property, the paper achieve the physical analysis pre-processing tools to quickly generate physical analysis meshes. Based on the analysis of the difference between the physical mesh and traditional finite element mesh, the paper has put forward topology expression patterns of the physical mesh, and has focused on automatic mesh identification and interactive property identification. Drawing pretreatment is carried out firstly in mesh recognition method. To improve the graphics processing efficiency, we use the quad-tree method for graphics restructuring and this method quickly achieves graphic intersection and mesh recognitio n. For the existence of a large number of repeat meshing in the process, the paper propose a mesh cell inserting method for rapid re-use the same mesh file.After the mesh attributes defining, user may need to re-edit or refine the mesh and the mesh data requires maintain consistency, then this paper puts forward a new mesh property inheritance and maintenance method.Finally, on the AutoCAD platform, the meshing tool is achieved by using secondary development interface, which implements pretreatment grid, the mesh recognition, attribute definition, attribute integration, and outputs a required mesh file in physical analysis.
