Plants is an extremely important part of living world. The research on plants directly affect the effectiveness of human beings protecting environment and plant identification is the basis conservation plant diversity. Leaves, which have the characteristics of a relatively stable shape and relatively planar structure, is an important organ, also suitable for using as the reference object of plant identification. Therefore, shape feature extraction, analysis and comparison research in the view of the leaf is very important significant. As many different kinds of plants are widely distributed, relying only on part of the efforts of the professional study, is not sufficient to cover all plant varieties and geographical distribution. So, if we can attract more people to participate in the information acquisition of plant leaves work, there will be no doubt to play a very active role in plant research. On the other hand, if the plant researchers can use some method to communicate with the collecting information and research results, it also will provide the impetus for further work of the researchers.Plant leaves and leaf identification information management system not only helps plant specialist the research work, but also can be easily used for non-plant specialist recording plant leaves and leaf identification information. This system also provides channels to exchange results among researchers. In order to achieve these functions, and make the system have good portability and scalability, modular and hierarchical design principles have been used in the structured design of the system. The entire system globally includes three parts, mobile client application, desktop application and database. The mobile client application running on the Android platform, can perform real-time leaf identification and leaf information acquisition function. Desktop client application running on the Windows platform, can deal with leaf images at once in batches and upload leaf information. Database using My SQL as database management software, is mainly used to store leaf information.Plant leaves identification and leaf identification information management system in interface design, function setting, logic levels and other aspects have fully take account for interactivity, to enable the system very convenient. After repeated debug, the mobile terminal, the desktop and the function of the database have been improved. In different network environments, users can take advantage of the convenience of the mobile device to identify leaves, record information, use desktop devices to collect leaves for batch processing, and after processing, generate information to upload to the database.
