In recent years image measurement becomes a high-performance measurement technology in the measurement field because of the scientific and engineering developing. This new measurement technique is based on the integration of modern optics, optoelectronics, information processing, computer graphics, computer vision and many other modern technology, which is also related to machinery, communications, engineering, and other traditional industries technology.Under the background of traditional underwater slide construction, this paper presents a system solution for automatic high precision measurement based on underwater image. Firstly, this paper carefully analyses the disadvantages of the traditional underwater slide construction process. Secondly, this paper puts forward the new image measurement construction solution to solve these shortcomings. Thirdly, this paper studies how to design and install the underwater camera, and design a unique underwater image symbol according to the underwater circumstance. Fourthly, we raise the image measurement algorithms for calculating the alignment information, and next design coarse positioning method and communication system. Finally, we reach the aim of automatic high precision based on underwater image.For underwater image's stability is poor and contrast is low, this paper put forward an integration preprocessing method consisting of multi-scale median filtering and just-noticeable-difference. To increase the robustness of the algorithm, the image feature extraction process uses a skeleton extraction algorithm and Hough transform algorithm. And the paper gives an analysis of the application scope of the two treatments.Lastly, a test program is programmed using visual studio 2010. The stability and the practice of the measuring method are demonstrated by the practical underwater images.
