With the development of society and constantly improve ment of science and technology, wireless technology and intelligence services have also made great progress, wireless positioning stepsgradually into the people's lives. Especially in complex environment, such as the army proving ground, large parking lot, underground mine, airports, cargo warehouse and other places, it is often necessary to determine the location of specific items or individuals. Because of various disturbances at the site, the current location technology still existsseveral defects, including poor positioning accuracy, limited application area and delaying real-time updating. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to design a kind of high precision, wide range, high speed positioning system of low cost, low power consumption.Topic of this paper is derived from the simulation reality shooter game project, needing to locate game players.The main research of this paper is based on nanoPAN embedded positioning system. The main content of the res earch is:first of all, the research and analysis of several kinds of commonly used wireless positioning system, and comparisons of their advantages and disadvantages; Then, study of algorithms based on signal strength and signal propagation time. Accordi ng to the analysis of the principle, precision, range, anti-interference and secrecy of system, we chose SDS-TWR based on signal propagation time.Secondly, we study the 2D plane positioned in three different situations, using a trilateral centroid algorithm to calculatethe coordinates, and its error is analyzed.To improve the positioning accuracy, we propose a Kalman filter.Then, we use the analysis of the basic methodto calculate the position of 3D space, and use the least squares estimation algorithm to calculatethe precise location of the target.On this basis, the position of the 2D and 3D are comparedfor real-time and practicality considerations, and ultimately determines the two-dimensional plane positioning as the direction of this article.At last,the hardware part of the system is based on embedded ARM as a platform and Germany Nanotran company nanoPAN5375 RF module as the positioning core.The software design is mainly composed of the software of ARM system and PC software system. ARM is mainly used to collect location data, calculation and display alone; PC is mainly used for the whole positioning process of real-time monitoring.The test results ofpositioning system show that the system basically achieved the high positioning accuracy, range, good real-time performance and low cost requirements. Finally, according to the deficiency of the system, this paper gives a further improvement method and thought in the future.
