Metal-bonded super-abrasive grinding wheel has the characters, such as good abrasion resistance, long service life, bearing heavy load, grinding fine performance and so on, so it is widely used in aerospace, machinery and electronics and cars and other modern industries. To make the metal-bonded super-abrasive grinding wheel always maintain good grinding performance, it is necessary to dress it regularly, but the dressing process of traditional dressing methods are difficult, Mainly displays in the low dressing precision and low dressing efficiency, difficult and loss speed dressing tools. Electro-Discharge Dressing (EDD) grinding wheel as a non-contact dressing technology has the outstanding features, such as no cutting force dressing process, high dressing precision, simple operation, low cost and easy to adjust and so on, So it is suitable for the dressing of metal-bonded super-abrasive grinding wheel.The adaptive control research of electro-discharge dressing technology is very little, because the dressing process that the simulation and mathematical formula can not explain is very complex. Aiming at the selection of electro-discharge parameters in electro-discharge dressing super-abrasive grinding wheel, a inference method combined with Case-Based Reasoning(CBR) and Rule-Based Reasoning(RBR) are introduced in the article, it combines electro-discharge dressing experience with electro-discharge dressing knowledge to select electro-discharge parameters. And the database system of electro-discharge dressing super-abrasive grinding wheels is established, the main contents of the study are as follows?(1) Completing the overall scheme design, concept design and logical design of the database system of electro-discharge dressing super-abrasive grinding wheels.(2) The instances of electro-discharge dressing super-abrasive wheel and the methods of instances similarity calculation and weight assignation are determined, and electro-discharge conditions and rule representation are elaborated.(3) By applying case-based reasoning and rule-based reasoning to the electro-discharge parameters selection of bronze bond CBN wheel NBC160M100, then the electro-discharge dressing experiment verification is done.(4) Using Visual Basic 6.0 as a development tool and SQL Server 2005 as the underlying database support software, the database system of electro-discharge dressing super-abrasive grinding wheel is established.The modularizing design principle is adopted in the database system of electro-discharge dressing super-abrasive grinding wheel, and it is mainly composed of system login module^ secondary database module?instance module?case-based reasoning and rule-based reasoning module and helping system module and so on. The database system can reason out the corresponding electric-discharge parameters after inputting the dressing conditions of electro-discharge dressing super-abrasive grinding wheel in the case-based reasoning and rule-based reasoning module.
