The Semiconductor Lasers have the advantages of small size, light weight, lowcost, long life and selecting wavelength.It is particularly suitable for manufacturingthe industrial processing equipment. When the laser is applied to the fields where itis strictly with the wavelength of the light, the instability of wavelength is the mainfactor to affect its performance and temperature is one of the important variablescan affect the wavelength of the outputting light. So it is necessary to develop a setof intelligent device to control the temperature of the semiconductor laser to make itwork well.The paper firstly studies the influence of temperature on the characteristics ofsemiconductor lasers,according to the power of semiconductor laser choosing themodels of the semiconductor cooler, then designing refrigeration and heatdissipation structures. To built a constant temperature control system based on theAgilent34972A data acquisition system, PT1000platinum resistance temperaturesensor and semiconductor cooler drive circuit. The temperature signal is collectedby the34901A module and PT1000temperature sensor to instrument, The computerthrough the virtual instrument control procedures based on LabVIEW to read thetemperature signal, and according to the deviations from the temperature signal andthe setting temperature value, processing the data through the integral separationPID control algorithm, to output a programmable voltage signal through the dataacquisition module34907. the voltage signal output to the LM317drive circuit ofthe semiconductor cooler,to realize Current control and refrigeration control ofsemiconductor cooler. In the laboratory environment, we make many experimentsaccording to different working condition of semiconductor laser. The experimentalresults show that, the precision of temperature control of semiconductor lasertemperature control system can reach±0.1?, and can display real-timetemperature curve.
