In recent years,there have been some doubts about the selection of foreign cultures in Chinese textbooks,criticizing the selection of textbooks as "westernization" and "respecting foreign affairs." Language textbooks,as a carrier for disseminating Chinese civilization,should highlight nationality and inherit the unique traditional culture and contemporary cultural characteristics unique to Chinese civilization.At the same time,in the context of globalization,Chinese language curriculum and even school education should also adopt a certain tolerance attitude.On the basis of inheriting Chinese culture,we criticize the absorption of foreign culture.The issue of cultural balance in Chinese textbooks is an important issue that cannot be ignored in the process of textbook compilation,review and use.This article takes two editions of primary school language textbooks as an example to analyze the quantity and content of foreign cultures in textbooks.This paper reveals the status of foreign culture selection in primary school Chinese textbooks and discusses the cultural balance in textbooks.This article is divided into five parts,a total of seven chapters.The first part of the introduction(the first chapter of the paper).introduce the research background of this study and propose research questions.What is the status of the texts of foreign cultures in the current edition of primary school language textbooks(versions A and B).What are the similarities and differences between the two editions of primary school language textbooks in foreign cultural selection? This chapter also defines the relevant concepts involved in the research and explains the significance of the research.The second part is the literature review(the second chapter of the thesis).The research results at home and abroad were combed from three aspects: the general situation of primary school language textbook research,the comparative study of elementary school language textbooks,and the study of foreign cultures in primary school language textbooks.Which provided reference for the study.The third part is the research design and method(Thesis 3).This study uses the ideas of case studies and comparative studies,The research subjects are the currentChinese A and B primary school language textbooks,This article takes the content analysis method as the main research method.This paper introduces the operation flow of the method in this study,and analysis the unit and the analysis category.The fourth part is the analysis of foreign culture in primary school language textbooks(Thesis 4 to Chapter 6).Chapters 4 and 5 analyze foreign culture in foreign languages in the textbooks for primary and secondary schools in the A Press and the B Press,and analyze the number of foreign cultural texts in terms of human geography,literature and art,science and technology,and foreign figures.content.The sixth chapter is based on the analysis results of the fourth and fifth chapters of the two editions of the comparative analysis of textbooks,revealing the commonalities and differences between the two.The fifth part is the conclusion and thinking of the study(Chapter 7).It is divided into two parts: conclusion and reflection.The main conclusions are five points: the proportion of selected foreign cultural content is relatively high,and the contents of various projects are focused on;the selected foreign cultural literary works have multiple themes and rich content;the selection of foreign cultures has the tendency of "European and American centers";the selected age and culture are different,and the area of people's communication is more inclined to social professional life;the stereotypes of male and female images of selected foreign figures are imbalanced.There are four main points of thinking: when foreign language contents of primary school language textbooks are used,they should pass on their own culture and draw lessons from foreign cultures.Beware of the tendency of foreign culture to choose the "European and American centers";Selected foreign characters to avoid gender bias and stereotype;the field of communication is more pluralistic,selected ages are balanced.
