In the era of rapid popularization of educational information technology,proficient use of PPT has become a must for high school teachers,which is also a necessary teaching skill for history majors of normal universities and colleges.In order to know and examine the current situation of the teachers' PPT application skills of the history majors of the university,this paper takes The Fifth National Teaching Skills Competition for College Undergraduates of History Education Majors as an example,and analyzes the contestants' PPT application skills from the perspective of the present situation,the insufficiency of PPT application skills of the national college history majors.The thesis is divided into five chapters.The introduction and preface first describes the origin of the research and reviews relevant previous studies,then introduces the research methods used in this paper,and finally points out the research significance and innovation of this paper.Chapter One mainly introduces the relevant concept,the general situation and the evaluation standard of PPT design for the teaching competition.Chapter Two analyzes the layout design of contestants in the teaching competition from the three perspectives of color collocation,text design and picture application,and mainly focuses on the analysis of the technical level of PPT design.Chapter Three analyzes the content organization of the contestants' PPT in the teaching competition,the analysis of which focuses on the selection and presentation of content;For content selection,the source of PPT content and existing problems are analyzed;for content presentation,contestants' performances of PPT usage are evaluated from the following three aspect: “ lead-in”,“teaching activity arrangement”,“class review”.Chapter Four analyzes contestants' PPT demonstration operation from the perspective of the contestants' gestures used in teaching,the PPT demonstration the interaction and feedback between teachers and students.Chapter Five offers some suggestions for improving PPT application skills in history teaching.The author gives a brief introduction of the guiding methodology in historyteaching,and offers some suggestions concerning improving the PPT application skills from the aspects of layout design,content presentation and PPT demonstration.Through analysis of this contest,it can be seen that there are differences in PPT layout design and demonstration of college history majors,and generally speaking college history majors have a high level PPT application skills;relatively speaking,the PPT content and organization need to be improved,especially the presentation of content presentation has yet to be strengthened which should be done constantly to improve the quality of normal education.
