As the highest level of education,the graduate education holds an important position in cultivating high-quality and high-level talents for social development.As a part of the graduate education,academic graduate education started earlier and has better influence.Its cultivation core---academic ability,not only is the internal requirement of graduate education,but also is the expectation of national science and technology development.During the cultivation process of graduate students' academic ability,tutor's instruction is especially important.This thesis aims at researching the relation between tutor's instruction and full-time academic graduate students' academic ability by empirical investigation,including the degree of correlation between them as well as the ways that the tutor's instruction impact students' academic ability.The dimensions of this survey on full-time academic graduate students' academic ability include theory cognitive ability,research ability and practical ability.Also,the dimensions of this survey on tutor's instruction include the establishment of mentoring relationship,ways of instruction,contents of instruction,frequency of instruction and style of instruction.The results of this empirical investigation are as following.First,the tutor's instruction has a positive correlation with the academic ability of full-time academic graduate students.Tutors' instruction ways,instruction contents,instruction frequency and instruction style have a positive correlation with the academic ability of full-time academic graduate students.Tutors' instruction number has no positive correlation with the academic ability of full-time academic graduate students.Second,the academic ability of the full-time academic graduate students is in the intermediate-level,but the academic ability is different in different subjects and grades.Third,most of the full-time academic graduate students are satisfied with their tutor's instruction.But,there are still some problems need to pay attention to.The number of tutor's instruction is too large and the frequency of instruction is different with different instruction number.The realistic relationship between students and teachers has a certain difference compared with the ideal relationship between them,and the relationship between students and teachers is different in different subjects.The ways of tutor's instruction are varied along with the popularization of network and the development of communication technology,buttutors and students become less meet.In the aspect of instruction contents,the tutors communicate more learning problems with students but less about personal life and career planning,and the instruction contents are different in different subjects.The instruction frequency now the students received is different with the ideal instruction frequency.Whether the tutor is full-time or not will impact the instruction frequency and the instruction frequency is different in different subjects.Finally,according to the research results,I think about tutors' instruction in cultivating the full-time academic graduate students' academic ability,such as “skilled worker ushers in the gate,leads a pious life depending on individual”,“a strict teacher produces outstanding students” and “fertile soil is easier to harvest”.
