Reading is one of four basic contents of English leaning.It is the main approach to acquiring foreign language knowledge and an important way for students to communicate and know more about foreign culture.Therefore,reading is one of the most important parts in English teaching of senior high school.With the further promotion of new English curriculum and the continuous development of modern information technology,more and more students are losing interest in traditional English reading learning.As a matter of fact,English reading situation is far from satisfaction.The flipped classroom,starting in the United States,is a product of the rapid development of modern information technology,which soon becomes a hot topic in the field of English education.The present research is based on the theories of constructivist learning,mastery learning and learning pyramid.Class 175 and Class 177 of Xinning Langshan Senior High School are randomly chosen as the experimental group and control group,respectively.Both quantitative and qualitative studies are conducted to carry out an action of research.This research aims to address the following two questions: 1.How is the teaching of English reading guided by Flipped Classroom Model for senior high school students designed and organized? 2.Can Flipped Classroom Model improve the effect of English reading teaching in senior high school? Before the research,the author launched a questionnaire survey of current situation of English reading teaching and a pretest made of reading knowledge,finding that students had problems in reading,such as lack of interests and confidence in reading learning,a strong sense of learning anxiety of reading,weak capacities in using reading strategy and so on.On this basis,the teaching practice of English reading guided by Flipped Classroom Model for senior high school students was launched and lasted a semester.It used the before-class and after-class observation,interview and other methods to explore the concrete application of English reading guided by Flipped Classroom Mode and constantly improve it through a 3-round action research.After the research,the author launched a post-test of reading knowledge of respondents,as well as a questionnaire survey,collected experimental data,and used SPSS 19.0 for data processing.According to analysis results of research data,it can be concluded that the reading teaching of Flipped Classroom Model can arouse students' reading interest,increase their self-confidence,relieve a sense of learning anxiety and improve the effect of reading teaching.
