At the end of the twentieth century,the International Council for Educational Development in the "education of the world of learning and education today and tomorrow" in the education report pointed out: "the definition of illiteracy in the new century,do not know how to learn people." The primary task of education reform is to do a good job of life education,and actively build a learning society,in modern society,learn lifelong learning is the last word.The purpose of education is to allow students to master cognitive methods and methods,learn how to learn.The new English curriculum standard clearly points out that the role of students is the leader of learning.Therefore,it is very important to cultivate students 'autonomous learning ability,but the practice of using metacognitive strategies to cultivate junior middle school students' autonomous learning ability is relatively rare.Based on the importance of autonomous learning ability in foreign language environment,this paper takes two classes taught by the author of Suining County Experimental Center in Hunan Province as the research object,using literature research,questionnaire,observation,interview and Empirical research method,the metacognitive strategy applied to junior high school students in English self-learning ability training.This study will start from the following three aspects: 1.The investigation of the current situation of English autonomous learning ability of junior high school students;2.Explore the meta-cognitive strategy applied to junior middle school students' autonomous learning ability cultivation;3.Strategies to Train Junior Middle School Students' English Autonomous Learning Ability.First of all,the author conducts a survey of students' present situation of autonomous learning ability of junior high school English,and finds that students lack effective strategies guidance,learning methods and evaluation of single effect,and weak self-learning ability.On this basis,the author takes the metacognitive strategy as a guide and tries to train 18-week English autonomous learning ability in two classes,which is divided into the following steps: 1.Introduce the relevant knowledge of metacognitive strategy to cultivate students' autonomy Learning consciousness;2.Usemetacognitive planning strategies to cultivate students' ability of self-planning learning;3.Use metacognitive monitoring strategies to develop students' self-control learning ability;4.Use metacognitive evaluation strategies to cultivate students' reflection Ability to learn.After the training,I conducted a questionnaire survey of students and interviews again,collect relevant data,and analyze the data.This study found that the application of metacognitive strategies to the cultivation of English autonomous learning for junior high school students is conducive to enhancing students' sense of autonomous learning in English;the ability to form and develop students' autonomous English learning plans;and help to improve students' English autonomy learning ability to monitor and reflect self-learning ability,and make different levels of students' self-learning ability have been some improvement.
