ObjectiveBMI is an indicator of overall obesity,it is associated with obesity complication and various chronic diseases in children and adolescents.CRF?Cardiorespiratory fitness?reflects the ability of children and adolescents to absorb, transport and utilize oxygen,it is very important to promote the healthy growth of children and adolescents.Body shape and CRF indicators are closely related to their geographical environment, cultural customs, social and economic background, and education level.Tibetan people live on the Q inghai Tibet plateau for a long time, inevitably,it has a series of effects on body shape and CRF.Therefore,in order to comprehensively and objectively reflect the characteristics of BMI and CRF of Tibetan children and adolescents,to understand the differences, istribution patterns and variation characteristics in BMI and CRF of Tibetan and Han children and adolescents, and having the in-depth explore the relationship between the BMI and CRF,and to provide scientific basis for further improving different national public health decision-making,physical fitness improvement and intervention measures.MethodsThe sample comprised 2043 Tibetan in Lasa,China and 2400 Han children and adolescents aged 7-18 years from other regions of China.CRF was estimated by using the 20mSRT.And compared the BMI and CRF of Tibetan and Han children and adolescents of different gender.LMS method was used to construct a SD or percentile graph according to their results of BMI,20mSRT and VO2max,and linear regression were used to analyze and explore the relationship between BMI and 20mSRT.Results?1?Difference BMI and CRF:For boys and girls,BMI of boys and girls were significantly higher in Han populations than in Tibetan, and they were19.41>18.23kg/m2 and 18.60>17.96kg/m2,respectively.The total prevalence rate of obese were significantly higher in Han students than in Tibetan, and they were11.3>4.6%,4.3>1.7%,respectively.The VO2max of boys and girls was significantly higher in Tibetan students than in Han students, they are 46.18>45.12 ml/?kg·min?,42.89>42.23 ml/?kg·min?,respectively.For boys, the BMI-Z score of Han students and Tibetan students were 0.00,?0.29,respectively.For girls, they were 0.00,?0.16,respectively.The VO2max of Han and Tibetan students were 0.00,0.23,respectively,for girls, they were 0.00,0.20,respectively.?2?Changes and distribution characteristics of BMI and CRF in Tibetan and Han children and adolescents:The BMI P50 percentile of children and adolescents of Han nationality and Tibetan was 15.9419.67kg/m2 and 15.9920.80kg/m2 for boys,15.9019.33kg/m2 and 15.6919.38kg/m2 for girls, respectively. The BMI distribution of Han nationality children and adolescents in main percentile was generally higher than that of Tibetan; For boys, the VO2maxmax P50 values of Han and Tibetan students were between 45.1547.36ml/?kg·min?and 43.2346.93ml/?kg·min?,and for girls, they were between 41.2645.95ml/?kg·min?and 39.5345.08 ml/?kg·min?,respectively.The VO2max of Han nationality children and adolescents decreased with age,but VO2max of Han and Tibetan children and adolescents increased slightly after 15 years old.The distribution of VO2max in the main percentile of Tibetan children and adolescents was higher than that of the Han nationality in nationwide. The frequency distribution of BMI-Z in Tibetan and Han children and adolescents showed that the frequency distribution of BMI-Z scores of Han children and adolescents shifted slightly to the right, but the distribution of VO2max-Z frequency in Tibetan and Han children and adolescents showed that Tibetan children and adolescents moved slightly to the right.?3?Relationship between BMI and CRF:For boys, the 20mSRT-Z in Han students and Tibetan students of wasting, normal weight, overweight and obesity group were 0.05,0.07,?0.28,?0.47 and?0.05,0.08,?0.07,?0.35,respectively.For girls, the 20mSRT-Z score in Han and Tibetan students of wasting, normal weight, overweight and obese group were 0.16,0.18,?0.32,?0.63 and?0.16,0.05,?0.07,?0.56,respectively.The overall 20mSRT-Z performance of normal weight achieved the best, followed by wasting group, overweight group and obesity group?P<0.05?;Overall,the 20mSRT scores of Tibetan and Han nationality children and adolescents with BMI approaching the normal range were significantly higher than the corresponding 20mSRT value when BMI was too low or too high.Compared with the normal group, the frequency distribution of 20mSRT-Z in overweight and obesity group was obviously shifted to the left.Logistic regression analysis showed that overweight and obesity were the main risk factors for children and adolescents of Tibetan and Han nationality, the proportion of high grade CRF in Han nationality was overweight?O R=0.376,95%CI:0.2660.532?,obesity?OR=0.750,95%CI:0.5900.957?the proportion of high grade CRF in Tibetan was overweight?OR=0.533,95%CI:0.3750.758?,obesity?OR=0.254,95%CI:0.1270.508?.Conclusion?1?The BMI of Han boys and girls is generally higher than Tibetan; The CRF level of Tibetan boys and girls is generally higher than Han nationality; After age control,Han boys and girls had higher BMI than Tibetans, while CRF was lower than Tibetans.?2?The distribution of the major SD of BMI for Han boys and girls was significantly higher than Tibetan;and the major percentile distribution of CRF among Tibetan boys and girls was generally higher than Han nationality.Tibetan children and adolescents showed a rapid growth of CRF after 15 years old.?3?CRF level of the normal weight group among Tibetan and Han children and adolescents are higher than that of wasting, overweight and obesity group, respectively;and it showed a“parabolic”trend between BMI and CRF.
