The Research On Floating Population Control In The Capital City:A Case Study From Shibalidian Town

Population problem is a significant problem affecting harmonious development of economy and society.Since C hina's reform and opening up,Population transfer and labor immigration have been speeded up as the development of social and economic development.Floating population can make a positive contribution on the social and economic development and constrains regional economic development in turn,because its huge quantity and complicated structure.As the political and cultural center of C hina,Beijing is filled with floating population.The number of excess population restricted the scientific development of the city.Especially,under the background of coordinated development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei and Capital orientation of four centers,the problem of floating population has received increasing attention,which need to be handled scientifically and appropriately.Shibalidian Town is located in the rural-urban fringe zone of Beijing,facing the prob lem of large immigrated population and difficult to adjust and control seriously.Taking Shibalidian Town as an example,this study has analyzed the problem of floating population systematicly using the theory of population equilibrium,rational choice and push-pull,and put forward some feasible solutions and suggestions for the population control of Shibalidian Town and Beijing City.First the paper introduced the research background,objectives,significance and main contents,and reviewed the domestic a nd foreign literature.Then focuses on the related support theories,including the theory of population equilibrium,rational choice and push-pull,and combing through successful experience from Tokyo and Shanghai C ity.Third,introduces the social and eco nomic development of Shibalidian Town firstly,then analyzes the floating population characteristics from its quantity,origin regions,sex,age,education background,occupation,living distribution,and further discusses the reasons why floating population gathering in this area.Fourth,discusses the social and economic influences of floating population from the positive and negative aspects.Fifth,analyses the Shibalidian Town floating population control situation and existing problems,and connecting with the theory of push-pull the influence factors of the region's population regulation is analyzed.Sixth,puts forward three principles of floating population control,and makes some suggestions for the floating population control in Shibalidian Town.This study provides a new idea for the regulation of floating population.
