An Investigation Of The Current Situation Of Senior High School English Assignment

English assignment is an integral part of English curriculum and teaching,but also an extension and supplement of English teaching.This survey aims to investigate the current situation of senior high school English assignment,and make it play a better role in English teaching,then promote the reform of English Curriculum Standard.Two instruments are used in the research,including questionnaire and interview.Based on the research results of other researchers,the questionnaire and interview outline of this thesis are designed.The questionnaire was conducted among 330 senior two students from Luoyang International School and Luoyang No.1 Senior High School.10 students and 22 English teachers were interviewed as well.The purpose of this paper is to study the problems existing in English assignment in senior high schools from the five dimensions,namely the amount,the difficulty,the content and type,the correction of senior high school English assignment and the attitudes of teachers and students towards it,use Spss20.0 to analyze the data collected by questionnaire and interview,and then put forward the corresponding solutions to solve the problems with the guidance of constructivism theory and multiple intelligence theory.It is found that the current English assignment in senior high schools is always large amount of tasks with single form,simple and boring content,monotonous correction which is lack of flexibility and diversity,etc.,ignoring the role of assignment in fostering students' key competence in English subject.Therefore,we should stimulate students' interests in learning,improve the effectiveness of English assignment and promote the reform of English Curriculum Standard by reducing the amount of English assignment with single form,enriching the content and type and optimizing the correction of senior high school English assignment and so on.
