This study examines resources of care and support for children with autism. The central questions this study asked were the followings:"How can the caregivers as welfare providers effectively care and support the children with autism in Hangzhou,China?" and "With what policy measures can the care and support for the children be improved?" These questions were raised to understand and to provide ways to improve the lives of the children with autism.Based on the theory of welfare pluralism, this paper argues that the care and support for the children to be provided by parallel providers, while it emphasizes the great burden that is on the shoulder of the families of the children with autism. In this respect, this paper suggests that the state and the society establish systems and policies to support families in a way to improve the care and support for the children with autism. In order to do so,this study conducted a survey among family caregivers who attended one of the government-approved rehabilitation training organizations for the children with autism in Hangzhou,China. The survey results were analyzed via statistical analysis program, and literatures and cases of other countries were examined for the policy implications.
