| The current English writing teaching is usually dominated by teachers,which makes students lose their intrinsic motivation and interest in writing.Problem-based learning(PBL)emphasizes the initiative and enthusiasm of students and teachers.In PBL,the teacher plays different roles such as facilitators,organizers and promoters in class.This study applies PBL to writing teaching in senior high school and mainly addresses the following three research questions:1.What are the effects of the PBL on students’ writing attitude?2.What are the effects of the PBL on students’ writing performance?3.What are the effects of the PBL on teachers’ writing teaching?The experiment gave subjects from Liaoning senior high school participated in the study which lasted for three months.To answer the research questions,an experiment was conducted with tests,questionnaire and interview as the data collection instruments.SPSS 22.0 was used for quantitative and descriptive data analysis and topic.Brief analysis was used for qualitative data.The research in this study shows that the application of the PBL teaching method in English writing teaching has a positive effect on students’ English writing attitude and performance and on teachers’ English writing teaching.Besides,the researcher hopes that the research on application of the PBL teaching method in English writing teaching in senior high school can play a supplementary role in current English writing teaching and provide some suggestions for researchers who want to make their further research in writing teaching as to promote the development of English writing teaching. |
