Abstract/Summary:
This study aims to develop the extra-class reading exercises to support NCS students at primary level(year 1)in Hong Kong to learn Chinese.It would be able to improve Chinese learning and helpful in Chinese Class.There are five parts as following:Introduction.To introduce the reason,definition and literature review of the study.The purpose and significance of study.Chapter One.The foundation of study.To develop Chinese reading text according to The Chinese Course Framework as Second Language in Hong Kong and New Asia Chinese textbook in Hong Kong.To design Chinese reading exercises according to Bloom’s Taxonomy of Educational Objectives and theory of developmental psychology.Chapter Two.To develop extra-class reading exercises in Chinese.Have built up a framework of four topics with “family,school social and nature” to support NCS students at primary level(year 1)in Hong Kong to learn Chinese.Chapter Three.To design extra-class reading exercises framework in Chinese.Have designed three level reading exercises in Chinese according to the cognitive levels.The three level exercises are to remember,to learn and to share Hong Kong.Conclusion.To summarize the innovation and expectation of the study.The innovation: have developed four topics extra-class reading exercises framework in Chinese for NCS students at primary level in Hong Kong;have designed three levels extra-class reading exercises framework in Chinese.The deficiency: just developed exercises text focus on Hong Kong;just designed exercises at lower levels.
