The present study based on perceptual learning styles aimed at studying the correlation between perceptual learning styles and high school students' achievements in English learning by questionnaire method and literal review method.The thesis focused mainly on three questions:(1)What characteristics do the high school students have in perceptual learning styles?(2)What differences do boys and girls in high schools have in perceptual learning styles?(3)What's the correlation between perceptual learning styles and high school students' achievements in English learning?Having applied the software SPSS 13.0 to analyze the senior two students'preference in perceptual learning styles,as well as the correlation between the perceptual learning styles and students'achievements in English learning in one famous high school in Fuzhou,the present study got the following results:(1)The high school students prefer the auditory,visual and the individual learning styles,but the haptic and kinesthetic learning styles are the least popular learning styles;(2)There are differences between boys and girls' preferences in perceptual learning styles in high schools.The girls have a preference for auditory learning styles than boys while boys have a preference for individual learning styles than girls;(3)High school students' tactile and individual learning styles have a low positive correlation with their achievements in English learning.The tactile learning style has a positive correlation with most of the achievements in English learning,except with the grammar completion;and the individual learning style also has a positive correlation with most of the achievements in English learning,except with the composition.The thesis thus provided enlightenment not only for the teachers' teaching to improve the teaching effects according to students'differences but also for the high students to raise the learning efficiency during the autonomous learning.
