A wide variety of information and knowledge bombard the society nowadays,the reception,the gauging,the conversion,the synthesizing,the coding,the storing,the extracting and the reconstruction of information give college students access to the outside world.The stage of college is a key phase for the development of individual socialization as well as self-concept.Whether college students are able to correctly understand and evaluate themselves has a close tie with their fitting in the society and the corresponding pro-social behavior.As a result,a sound development of the pro-social behavior of college students needs profound instructions and effective measures.The research established on self-concept investigates the college students from Zhejiang Sci-Tech University,Hangzhou Normal University,Zhejiang University of Finance and Economics,Zhejiang Gongshang University,Hangzhou Dianzi University,China Jiliang University.The research mainly focuses on the current situation of the self-concept and pro-social behavior of college students along with their demographic difference with the adoption of Tennessee Self Concept Scale and Pro-social Tendencies Measure.It thoroughly deals with the link between nine dimensions of self-concept and six types of pro-social behavior,in particular,a concrete and comprehensive analysis of the integration,the content and the structure of self-concept and its influence upon pro-social behavior as well as its mechanism.In line with the conclusion,strategies and suggestions are put forward to optimize the pro-social behavior of college students from the aspects of self-satisfaction,social self,moral-ethical self,self-action.The main conclusions are listed below,(1)Self-concept and pro-social behavior of college students are generally positive,there is a demographic difference between college students’ self-concept and pro-social behavior.(2)There are significantly positive correlations between college students’ self concept and pro-social behavior.(3)Gender and educational background have a significant influence on collegestudents’ self concept and pro-social behavior.(4)The level of self-concept and pro-social behavior of college students grows with age.(5)Moral-ethical self and social self have a notable influence upon college students’ pro-social behavior.(6)The improvement of self-satisfaction and self-action can facilitate the formation and the sound development of college students’ pro-social behavior.The conclusion paves a way for grasping the link between self-concept and pro-social behavior and the development of college students’ pro-social behavior.
