Research On The Relationship Of Modern Sports Between China And Europe(1840-1949)

Modern times is an important period for China to transition from traditional society to modern society.China's foreign relations in this period,both in the ideological level or at the level of physical consciousness,have directly promoted the process of modernization in China.Research on the relationship of modern sports between China and Europe is one of the important contents to study the external relations of modern sports in China.This paper is selected from the National Social Science Fund Project,which has carried on the preliminary investigation and research to the Chinese and European sports relations in the three historical stages of the late Qing government period,the Beiyang government period and the Nanjing government period.This article mainly uses the literature data,the logic analysis method,the case study method,the historical measurement method.The main conclusions of the study are: First,the modern Sino-European sports relations began in the global expansion of the European powers.Modern Sino-European relations as a branch of international relations,is the result of the global expansion of the European powers,Sino-European sports relations is also gradually formed in this context.Second,the modern Sino-European sports relations experienced a passive input to the active absorption of the transition process,to achieve the active absorption and intentional output coexist situation.In the late Qing government period,the attitude of the Chinese ambassadors and international students,representing the "backward" China's western culture,began to evolve from "passive acceptance" to "active absorption".Third,the modern Sino-EU sports relations in the form of official exchanges,supplemented by private exchanges.This is because the modern China outside the provisional strong aggression,there are political turmoil,economicdifficulties,Moreover,China and South Africa is far away,the people of China and the EU sports exchange is really weak,so the Central European sports relations mainly under the government-led official exchange.Fourth,the modern Sino-European sports relations can be divided into three different stages of historical development.That is,through the late Qing Dynasty in the European sports relations,the initial realization of the European sports from passive to active absorption of the transition process;through the Northern European government during the Sino-EU sports relations,the initial realization of the absorption of European sports culture at the same time,And the movement of foreign cultures in Nanjing during the period of Nanjing government to achieve the opportunity to take the Berlin Olympic Games as an opportunity to initially open a new situation in the development of China-EU sports relations.
