| English reading is one of the main ways of learning English.And it is also an important means for students to obtain information.In the senior middle school,many teachers spend too much time and energy on English reading teaching,but the effect is not obvious.they mostly focus on words and syntax analysis,students just learn the language knowledge,but not the overall cognitive language,and that will affect the development of their language abilities.Meanwhile,with the development of the society,English teaching has not only focused on some simple daily life,more geography,politics,mathematics and other subjects are integrated into the English teaching.Therefore,English reading teaching is not only concerned with the structure of simple grammatical knowledge,but also should be concerned with the integration of subject knowledge and content.Many scholars have studied English reading under different teaching methods to find the most suitable method.And CLIL(Content and Language Integrated Learning)is a foreign language as the language of other non-linguistic disciplines,which can connect the language with subject knowledge together,students can use foreign language to acquire subject knowledge content.In this thesis,the author will explore whether the use of CLIL(Content and Language Integrated Learning)teaching method can improve students’ English reading ability.The experimental subject is Shijiazhuang No.35 High School,two classes of 130 students.The students in the experimental class are taught according to the Content and Language Integrated learning,and the control class is taught according to the conventional grammar translation method.The test period is a total of fourteen weeks.The results showed that: 1)Before the experiment,the experimental group and the control group had the same level of interests and abilities.Although the level of the two groups of students was still not significantly different in the high of the experiment,with the continuous adaptation of the experimental group of students to the new teaching method,at the end of the experiment,students who performed CLIL(Content and Language Integrated Learning)were more likely to study in general show a stronger learning interests showing a significant difference.2)CLIL(Content and Language Integrated Learning)teaching can significantly improve students’ learning abilities.That we can know CLIL(Content and Language Integrated Learning)as a tool to the foreign language,it not only can be based on learning subject knowledge,but also can provide real context.It is conducive to improving the quality of English teaching and cultivating the talents of professional ability and English ability. |
