Mind Map is a kind of visual tool,which effectively helps improve the efficiency of taking notes and memory ability and creativity,thus making the study full of fun.At present this tool has been widely used in various social fields,including ed ucation and has achieved a lot.Regular senior school is aimed for the National Entrance Examination,so it is extremely cautious with the new teaching methods.To inquire into the application of Mind Map in senior high biology teaching,with the advantage of Xidong High School as the base of visual thinking,this research attempts to apply the theory of Mind Map into senior high biology teaching and to clarify the effect through the further practice.Based on the origin of Mind Map,this paper firstly uses documentary research to explore the concept,characteristics and the methods of making Mind Maps.Also the article clears the related development trends and wises up acquired successes home and abroad.Secondly,combined with the practical facts of senior high biology teaching,the article seeks the conjunction points between the Mind Map and educational theories and analyzes its practicability in senior high biology teaching.Finally,by the way of the experimental approach,the author has conducted the effect of the usage of Mind Map in the teaching.The result is as the follows.After 10 months,the score of the experimental class is ranked as No.3,rising 5 in the grade,while the compared class rising 1,from No.7 to No.6.The questionnaires and individual interviews show that 78.1%?80.5% and 75.25% of the students and the teachers think that Mind Map helps them improve their memory ability,understanding ability and the teaching efficiency.Over 80% of the students think that Mind Map has more advantage in presenting the information directly and expressing the knowledge relationship,which indicates that Mind Map can be used the senior high biology teaching to improve the students' scores and help them understand knowledge.These research results provide proof and reference for the application of Mind Map in senior high biology teaching.
