The information age has brought great opportunities and challenges to the world,and information literacy has become an ability as important as the traditional reading and writing.Chemical information literacy is the specific subject of information literacy,which is particularly important.This paper briefly introduces the concept of information,the relationship between information and knowledge,the method of information processing,and the development of information literacy in other subjects.Also,the paper summarizes the concept,structure and connotation of the information literacy,the present research situation at home and abroad,the teaching mode of chemical information literacy,and the theoretical basis of the research on the information literacy.According to the evaluation theory and related literature,considering the characteristics of chemistry discipline and operability,and highlighting the investigation of chemical information ability,author makes students information literacy questionnaire to investigate students’ information literacy of more than one thousand high school chemistry in South of Jiangsu area.Describe the strategy of cultivation of middle school students information literacy,including preview guidance and effective collection to improve students’ self-learning ability;improve the website construction and supplement support materials to expand students’ chemical information perspective;establish class chemistry learning website,encourage students to try family small experiment as well;select appropriate strategies to improve students’ ability of chemical information processing;encourage questions,elicitation,culture criticism and innovation spirit;teachers should strive to improve their information literacy through practicing teaching.This paper has carried out practice research on the cultivation of the students’ information literacy in chemistry teaching,and designed the relevant topics in chemistry 2.Select two classes of Senior one in a high school of Suzhou as experimental class and control class.The experiment group and the control group by posttest experimental design were used to carry out the teaching practice for 4 months,and the evaluation of the practical effectThe results show that,1.Students’ chemical information morality was above the medium level,while the chemical information consciousness,the chemical information knowledge and the chemical information ability need to be further improved.2.In the demand of chemical information,adopt preview method and set up a number of important topics so that students can preview before class and access to relevant information,so as to obtain knowledge and improve students’ self-learning ability.3.In the acquisition of chemical information,the use of news materials,chemical history and other resources,the design of supporting material,help expand the horizons of students.4.In the processing of chemical information,the use of physical models,cognitive models,charts and other methods to help students understand and master knowledge,then build a knowledge system.
