In the "post-method" era in foreign language teaching,English teachers are considered to play an important role in the class.Teachers are not only the practitioner of teaching theory,but also the innovator and accomplisher of teaching theory.The teachers' self-awareness has great effects on teachers' teaching ability and professional development.The foreign language teachers should be aware of the importance of their roles,and deeply understand their teaching styles.The factors that contribute to the qualities of a good language teacher can be categorized into three groups: ethic devotion,professional qualities and personal styles,among which the personal teaching styles are usually neglected by the public.In the daily teaching activities,the teacher's character,behavior,performance in class and even the taste of selecting supportive materials can make a difference in the learning effect of students.Thus the junior high school English teacher's self-awareness of personal teaching styles will be a notable topic.Scholars abroad have studied the personal teaching styles of teachers for more than 70 years.They started with the concepts,types,functions and other basic theoretical theory researches of teaching styles in the early times,then gradually put the focus on studying the impact of the students' learning,which were in the paradigm shift era and the research perspective was mainly student-centered.With the rise of modern educational psychology,the studies of students' psychology and learning psychology has always been in the center or dominant position,while the researches of teachers' psychology started relatively later.Hence it is necessary to carry out the relevant empirical researches from the perspective of teacher-centered background.What's more,the junior high school English teachers tend to have no deep awareness of their own teaching styles.Most of the teachers sometimes focus on teaching knowledge in the book,being not good at taking advantage of the merits of their personal styles,and making up for their deficiencies.This study is aimed at exploring the influence of self-awareness of teacher's personal teaching styles on self-efficacy and teaching behavior in the "post method" era.The author sorted out and learned the knowledge of personal teaching styles and self-awareness by reading a large number of domestic and foreign periodicals,books and papers.Considering with the present educational environment in China,the survey was conducted in a certain number of junior high schools in 11 cities in Hebei Province and the author collected the data by adopting the main research instruments: questionnaires and interviews.The author organized,described and analyzed the collected data and put forward some advice to increase the English teachers' abilities of classroom teaching in junior high schools.This investigative study aims to help junior high school teachers acquaint themselves profoundly and develop teachers' leading role in teaching activities,creating better learning effects for students in class.
