Multidimensional literacy is a pedagogy developed by multimodal theory.Since the advent of the 1990s,the first research has been carried out abroad,which was introduced into China at the beginning of this century.The research at home is mainly focused on the theoretical level.Most of them are aimed at the study of the multi-literacy ability of college students in higher education.In the experiment of this thesis,two classes in the seventh grade have been chosen as the experimental object,from The Experimental Middle School in Lixin County,Bozhou City,Anhui Province.Class Four,Grade Seven is the experimental class and Class Ten,Grade Seven as the control class.The empirical study was carried out and used the methods such as contrast,investigation,interview to explore how to apply the multi-literacy into middle school English vocabulary teaching to improve the effectiveness of English vocabulary teaching and to stimulate the interest of middle school students to learn English.This thesis argues that,compared with the traditional vocabulary teaching method,the multi-literacy teaching method can improve the learning initiative of middle school students and stimulate the interest of learning with its rich plural context and language input form.However,in the experiment,this thesis found that when applying multi-literacy into secondary school English vocabulary teaching,the teachers should not blindly exclude traditional vocabulary teaching methods.If they can not only take the advantages of multiple reading teaching method but also actively learn from the accuracy of traditional vocabulary teaching,they will certainly improve their English vocabulary teaching efficiency,thus,promote the development of English vocabulary teaching and strengthen the effect of vocabulary teaching.Through research,this thesis explores to sum up the 6-step classroom teaching method and the "Sanqing" teaching mode in the teaching of English vocabulary in middle school.When the 6-step classroom operation and "Sanqing" teaching mode complement each other,inseparable and effective way has been established to improve the quality of English vocabulary teaching.Moreover,most of the students who participated in the experimental study were recognized to be in favor of the teaching of English vocabulary under the auspices of the multi-literacy teaching method,and hold that the method can better stimulate their interest in learning English.This paper tries to provide some reference for English vocabulary teaching in middle school from the perspective of multi-literacy pedagogy.
