Gender Identity Of BL Manga And H Manga’s Fans And Their Participation

BL and H are the important parts of Anime.BL means boys’ love,which is characterized as “male homosexual romantic relationships”.BL manga is the work of“male-male romantic relationships” commonly created by women writers and for women readers,which also is called “tanbi” or “yaoi” in Japan.H manga is erotic manga work,basically expressing sexual themes,which contains direct or indirect sexual contents.H is the abbreviation of “hantai”,which means abnormal sexual desire.Reading,sharing and producing are the significant participating behaviors of fans,through which fans are involved in the interaction with authors and texts.Fans have been seen as active audiences,whose different participating behavior is the concrete expression of identity of self.H and BL,as a special but common type of anime,offer a distinct contents with other general anime works:sex,from which male and female fans gain the experience and identity related to gender and sexuality.From the standpoint of the combination of modern feminism and post modernism,this article explores two questions: first,the common situation for fans of participating in BL and H works in the mainland of China mainly in terms of reading,sharing and producing.Second,in the basis of recognizing the biological differences of men and women,we accept the viewpoints of social construction that gender and sexuality identity are made by culture and socialization,and also believe the insight that gender and sexuality identity emerge in the process of interaction and practices of individual.We will study the question of gender identity of the Chinese men and women manga fans from the perspective of their individual practicing experiences such as reading sexuality contents of BL and H works and within the social and cultural context of mainland of China.
