Case Study Of Social Working On Operation For The Depression From Elder Group

The group of people whose age beyond 65 is stated as elder people in all over the world.In China,the population of elder group has taking very high rate in the total population and it shows that this trend has being more serious in the past several decades.According to the information from national statistic department,during 2005 to 2014,the total number of aged individuals grown from 100 million to 138 million and the custody rate raised from 10.7% to 13.7% at the same period.Unfortunately,as the people who was born during 1950 to 1969(who has large family members cause by no birth control)becoming aged individuals,the rate of elder group will becoming much higher in the next 20 years.There is no doubt that aged population rate has became a very serious problem in the modern society in China.As the ages growing,lots of issues will appear into elder life in both physiology and psychology.In physiology: the fundamental body functions and memorizing power will decrease,consequently huge amount of aged people suffer from illness in the long run.In psychology: too many elders could not get the lovely support from their own family thus they might face some problems such as lacking of love,resisting society and depression.As the time going by,these problems will lead the result to slowing consideration,self-abasement and lower speaking ability etc.In this article,some methods will be used,like Rational-Emotive Therapy,to analyze how individual case social working helped aged groups depression through the example and finally offer the conclusion that individual case social working playing a very important role focusing on aged depression issue in elder group.Based on the processing of this theory,it is believed that adding psychological counseling into social work would be a great trend.In this special case,several physiology methods such as Beck’s cognitive therapy,Rational-Emotive Therapy,have been used to prove the effect directly on both elder individual and aged group.Social workers who has the ability of controlling psychological counseling method could serving better to the special target.On the other hand,focusing on elder group depression issue,the modern society should take more care of it and offer more support.
