Study On The Teaching Strategies Of English Newspaper Reading In Senior High School

Along with the further integration of humanity and instrumentality in English teaching as a foreign language,English teaching has reached a brand new stage of exploration and reformation in senior high school.In the English teaching process,reading pedagogy,as a core part,is the most instrumental to pique students' interest and enthusiasm in learning English as well as stimulate their endowment and core quality.English newspaper reading is a best choice to raise students' English reading competence.It covers unique features of timeliness,interestingness and informationization,which is enjoying a wide spread of recognition and an increasing popularity among teachers and students.English newspaper reading is an effective approach to improve students' reading competence.Compared with textbooks,English newspapers have many advantages.They have updated contents,plentiful reading materials,diverse writing styles,and they are more appealing to students and close to life.As reading materials,English newspapers can easily arouse students' study passion,enthusiasm as well as initiative,enlarge learning resources,broaden learning ways and cultivate their interest in English learning.English newspaper teaching can change the traditional way of overemphasizing separate grammar and lexical instillation,thus building a bridge between virtual reality in class and life reality and providing students chances to experience,practice,take part in communication and cooperation.Based on the background,significance of the study and the relevant document research,with more than ten years of teaching experience,this thesis puts forward the problems we need to focus on when carrying out English newspaper teaching strategies.Besides,it is aimed at investigating and analyzing concrete newspaper reading effects after carrying out relevant teaching strategies.
