Abstract/Summary:
In the context of the information age,social media has become the main platform of interaction between people,especially the functional combination and simple operation of Wechat,which prompts users of different ages interact and communicate enthusiastically through WeChat.The “like” function,represents positive emotions,can be used in any context,it not only convey good wishes,but also connects to each other.This kind of non language symbol win users and recipients’ special favor.However,with the in-depth use of Wechat,the positive meaning of “like” gradually becomes the tool of self display,which is more multi-layer than that given by users.In addition,In the network’s special virtual background,the different understanding of the situation would lead to different meanings towards “like” between the users and the receivers of “like”,which will cause misunderstanding between individuals.Aiming at this problem,it is necessary to research on “like” from the sociological point of view,this paper attempts to study on the academic theory,using interview method and literature research method.Researchers Interviewed the user and the receiver of “like”and reveal how users and receivers understand the non language symbol--“like” in different backgrounds.This paper systematically reviews the domestic and foreign about the non language symbol and "like",on this basis,we first analyzed the non language symbols from the perspective of "like",elaborates the original meaning and application of“like”and summarizes the "like" four stages from the origin to the alienation,so as to pave for the following analysis.Secondly,researchers classify the situation of “like”from the perspective of users and combine with Weber’ endowed with meaning of the theory,found that users’ point of like given different meanings in different contexts,summarized as follows: identified ‘like’,ritualized “like”,teasing “like” and tool-type“like”.Next,the chapter analyze how receivers understand the meaning of “like” in different situations from the perspective of the recipients,researchers mainly summed up three types of “like” that receivers given: the first one is the positive interpretation of “like”,the second one think that “like” is a kind of "social media machine";the third one is a kind of misunderstanding,which means the user’s sense of “like” does not receive the recipients’ understanding,but caused a conflict.On the basis of the above analysis,this essay argues that “like” is not only a non language symbol,it is the utilization of new social mode.Users and receivers should rationally use and understand "like" according to the situation,and advocates rational use of the “like” in practice in order to return to rational communication instereoscopic communication.Through the study of "like",we should guide people to deal rationally with "like" to maintain interpersonal relationship.Only when we cooperate with sincere emotional communication can we give full play to the positive significance of "like".
