Research On Group Identity Of Tour Pal Subculture

With the continuous development of Chinese economy and the increasing living standards of the people,urban outdoor recreational activities are becoming more and more popular."Tour pal" groups develop gradually,and quickly form a feature in in the consumer behavior model,organization,communication media and organizational culture and other aspects and establish a strong sense of belonging to the group."Tour pal" behavior seems to form a sub-cultural phenomenon.But the domestic academic research on the "tour pal" is lagging behind the pace of development of this phenomenon.How does the tour pal group form? What kind of groups do they identify? What is the significance of the growing array of tour pal to our society today? Based on these,the content of this study is developed.This paper first uses the literature data to sort out the group identity theory and the relevant information of the tour pal,analyzes the case of the outdoor group of Shenyang Forest Club under the theory of group identity as the theoretical guidance frame by using the participatory observation method and the interview method,and analyzes the process of group identity to reveal the cultural characteristics and connotations of the subcultures of tour pal group.The content of Specific research are as follows: the research is based on the theory of group identity as the theoretical research framework,and analyzes the process from the self-categorization to the social comparison and the process from the construction of identity to the deconstruction(reconstruction)of the identity.That is to say,the group of tour pals experiences the dynamic group identity process from the establishment of the identity after joining the group to the establishment of group belongingness in the event,and strengthen the group identity by the positive response to the strategy when they face doubts from others.The research shows that the tour pal group is not a group of "gangsters" by the process of analysis and demonstration of the group identity.Instead,they are the groups who are organized,disciplined,and actively seek the public positive evaluation.The core of tour pal subculture is to encourage individuals to pursue individuality and freedom,and it believes that interpersonal relationships are not cold and unfamiliar,but stresses the trust and mutual assistance.This core coincides with the mainstream values of our society accidentally.The cultural concepts and codes of conduct which tour pal group advocates has become the consensus of the tour pal group,and meanwhile has gained more and more positive public recognition gradually.The tour pal culture hasbecome an integral part of the socialist core value system and has fulfilled the function of plays a social integration.
