Vocabulary is the building material of language,vocabulary teaching is the foundation of language teaching,and also is an important part of Chinese teaching,but in the actual teaching process,vocabulary teaching has always been neglected.It has been neglected but it has not been taught.But it has not caused enough attention in teaching time,teaching methods and attitudes towards vocabulary teaching.According to students' survey and teachers' interview,we find that most teachers explain vocabulary,but it tends to be in just a few minutes before class or let students preview the pronunciation,forming and meaning of new words by themselves.It has no innovation in teaching methods,but most students hope teachers can change teaching methods,thus the teachers' teaching method is no longer suitable to the student's learning.In the network-developed modern society,the ways that students understand new things are becoming more and more,thought is becoming more and more active.So single teaching method is not conducive to students' knowledge mastery and it also will hit the students' interest.Aim to the existing problems in vocabulary teaching,this paper will discuss vocabulary teaching's present status and strategies based on present status.The first part is investigation and analysis of junior high school Chinese vocabulary teaching's present status.It includes analysis of questionnaires and vocabulary teaching's present status.Vocabulary teaching's present status analysis is from teachers' teaching,students' learning,vocabulary's detection and application these four aspects.The second part is junior high school Chinese vocabulary's teaching strategies which includes teaching strategies,learning strategies,teaching evaluation strategies and stylistic pragmatic strategies those four parts.Teaching strategies include classified teaching strategies,method strategies and context teaching strategies these three areas;learning strategies include metacognitive planning strategies,resource management strategies,organization strategies;Teaching evaluation strategies include ways to improve testing ways and application in oral communication,reading comprehension and writing.
