The promulgation and implementation of “Curriculum Standards for High School English(exp.d)” has a positive affection upon promoting high school English teaching,especially helping teachers change their concepts,improving teaching methods and guiding students to promote learning.Although high school English curriculum reform impels orderly,students' academic progress has been improved obviously,and yet,there exists a lot of insufficiency in curriculum new concepts,teaching new changes and the new requirements of teaching and research methods.Students' autonomy of inquiry learning,the consciousness,method and ability of developing new knowledge still need positive innovation and more practice of first-line teachers.Therefore,the core task of high school English teaching with deepreform is purposely to change education concepts and innovating teaching methods,which is the key to promoting students' academic development.The exploration in Problem-based Learning innovation and application is the breakthrough to promote students' English academic development and the new shortcuts to guide students to develop independent learning and inquiry learning.This study focuses the PBL teaching strategies,which has a beneficial attempt in English teaching in Grade One students of XXX senior secondary school.In the process of exploration and practice,this research firstly discusses the origin of PBL,its development and theoretical basis,then,systematically summarizes the domestic and foreign study of PBL.Based on this,the writer makes two parallel classes in a senior high school as the study object,Class 12 is the experimental group,using PBL in English teaching,while Class 13 is the comparative group,using traditional teaching mode.At the end of this semester,the writer uses paper test,questionnaire and interview methods to collect and classify the process of PBL implementation process and data.Then the writer uses the SPSS 17.0 software statics to analyze the data,revealing the influence and function of PBL in students learning,their interest,learning method,the impact of comprehensive ability,etc.The study finds that PBL is not only beneficial to improve the students' English achievement,inspire the students' interest in learningEnglish,but also improves students' subject consciousness.More importantly,by the application of PBL teaching and learning practice,students' inquiry consciousness,exploring consciousness and thinking ability,independence,self-development all have made good progress.This study,functioning as a case,is only a preliminary exploration in practice.If it wants to be fully applied into high school English teaching,it needs more empirical research about its theoretical ideas,use ranges,degrees of adaptation,methods and so on.This study attempts to use the little to get the big,hoping to provide certain reference and support for high school English teachers' teaching and study.
