Study On How Residents' Cultural Partaking Influence The City Identity

City identity is the "stabilizer" and "propellant" of urban prosperity and development.Although it has been proved that residents' cultural participation has an influence on their city identity,it is still unknown whether this conclusion can be applied to this migrant city ——Shenzhen.Through the empirical study of Shenzhen City,this article investigates the effects of cultural participation of Shenzhen City residents on their city identity,at the same time,for the special population structure of Shenzhen,this article also focuses on the key variables of urban household registration status.It is found that the variables of the household registration have a significant impact on the city identity of the residents,and there are significant differences in the city identity among the different household residents.But for Shenzhen residents with different household registration,their cultural participation has promoted their city identity.In particular,the residents who participate the cultural activities of the organization show a higher recognition attitude towards Shenzhen,at the same time,the frequency and breadth of the cultural participation have played a positive role in the city identity,that is,the more frequency of residents' cultural participation is,the stronger city identity is;the wider type of cultural participation is,the stronger city identity is.Similarly,the effect of residents' cultural participation also has a promoting effect on city identity,that is,the higher satisfaction of Shenzhen residents' cultural participation is,the stronger city identity is.The results also shows that,Shenzhen's public cultural services have achieved good social results.
