A Research On The Western Female Tea Gown In The Late 19^th Century To Early 20^th Century

This article focuses on the history of Western women' s tea gown from birth to popularity until the disappearance,committed to the change of the late nineteenth century to the early twentieth century women' s tea gown popular styles,fabrics,colors,panniers and other aspects,and analyzed the characteristics of Western women's tea gown in detail.Through these aspects of research,finally made a reproduction of a Western female tea gown's development process.The first part is the development of tea gown grooming.Combined with the background,the development of the afternoon tea and fashion trends at that time,reviewed the history of tea gown from birth,popular to disappearance.The second part is the study of the samples of western female tea gowns collected from the late 19 th century to the early 20 th century.The elements of clothing are analyzed one by one,including clothing profile,corset and skirt style,fabric,color,components.Then analysis of these elements found in the time of change nodes.And compared with women' s other clothing during the same period,and related literature,so that the research evidence of women' s tea gown will be more detailed and accurate.The way of the development of the tea gown is more clear and coherent.It can be more accurately grasp the evolution of Western women 's tea dress trajectory in the details and the overall.The third part is a review of tea gown's evolution.The development of tea gown is divided into three stages.Summing up the representative form of different stages.And to explore the regularity.Through the study of this paper,conclusion are as follows: First,the development of tea gown is divided into three stages: prominent skirt and hip shape of the Bustle,then the waistline gradually relaxed to S-shaped and transfer to modern home clothing.Second,the biggestdifference between tea gown and daily dress is that women can wear a tea gown without corset,which also affected the abandon of corset in lately times.Finally,as the initial garment in the afternoon tea,tea gown finally become women' s home clothing,and cannot be able to walk away from 'the house'.
