21st century is the era of knowledge economy.To cope with the challenge of knowledge economy,we should attach attention to and strengthen the education of intellectual property.Colleges and universities,as the focus of knowledge resources,are the main force of transforming knowledge into wealth.Extensive intellectual education in colleges and universities,especially the education to the students of science and engineering,has become an important issue of common concern in the world.Intellectual property education to university science and engineering students in China,which started late,lacks experience and develops slowly,has been hard to keep up with the times.Therefore,it is of theoretical value and practical significance to study the intellectual property education to university science and engineering students in China.This paper expounds the basic theory of intellectual property education to university science and engineering students.Based on the actual investigation and analysis,the present situation and main problems of the intellectual property education to university science and engineering students are analyzed.In order to make theoretical and practical contributions to the intellectual property education to university science and engineering students,we explore the realization mechanism for the intellectual property education to university science and engineering students in this article by learning from overseas experience,from the aspects of education idea,education objective,education principle,teaching staff,education content,education methods and education evaluation.
