Research On Career Identity Of University Counselors

The university counselor play a very important part in students' grown-up,to establish a stable and efficient university counselor troop is imperative.However,the reality is that the university counselor troop runs too fast and the tendency of changing careers is very obvious.It is mainly for the career identity of university counselors is low.Research on career identity of university counselors can help us to explore the reasons behind it and put forward some corresponding suggestions so as to contribute to the healthy development of the student affairs.This paper is divided into three parts: The first part is the introduction.That is about the introduction of research background,research purpose and meaning,research content and research assumptions,research design and research methods and literature review.For literature review,it includes summing up the research progress of this study and making definitions on university counselors,occupation,identity,career identity and the career identity of university counselors,and summarizes the theoretical basis of this study.The second part includes the third,fourth,and fifth chapters.Chapter Three expounds the demographic characteristics of university counselors from five representative universities in Yunnan province(S Normal University,Y Comprehensive University,L University of Science and Technology,M Minzu University and K Medical University)and discusses the characteristics of the career identity on the demographic variables.Chapter Four analyzes its causes on the basis of the theory of human nature and the hierarchy of needs theory.Chapter Five puts forward some suggestions from three aspects including the government,universities and the university counselors themselves to improve the career identity of university counselors.All of explanations from Chapter Three to Chapter Five are based on the analysis of questionnaire,interview and literature research.The third part is the conclusion part,including reviewing this study's contribution and deficiency and expressing the author's vision.
