The Research Of High School Basketball Training Status And Influencing Factors In Shanbei Region

With the constant development of basketball in China,this highly popular athletic project has spread every corner.Although the professional basketball league has operated for many years in China,its competitive level is far behind the international standard.One of the critical points to improve our athletic basketball level is the development of school basketball.The basketball competitive level develops slowly,and the building of basketball teams is always neglected in China,especially in the remote areas.The Shan-bei region(North of Shaanxi Province area)is the old liberated area,the sacred place for the revolution,and the core of Loess Plateau,covering two cities of Yan’an and Yulin.Since the reform and opening-up,great changes have taken place in politics,economy,and social life in Shan-bei.The Outline of Shaan-xi Thirteenth Five-Year Plan for national economic and social development obviously points,“Promote cultural boom,speed up the building of the culturally strong province”,“focus on the assurance and improvement of people’s wellbeing,and constantly promote people’s living standard”,which is particularly crucial for Shan-bei region.Over the past twenty years,the economy has grown rapidly in Shan-bei region.Especially since the 1990 s,the development and utilization of mineral resources have promoted the regional economy and improved people’s material life level,therefore,people’s demands for sports activities,and services continuously increased.However,due to regional environmental status,the development of sports undertakings is relatively lagging,which goes against the principle of "people-oriented and harmonious development",and hampers the improvement of people’s spiritual and cultural life,and the social comprehensive progress in Shan-bei region.Hence,it is critically important to develop the Sports Culture in Shan-bei region.Adopting the methods of documentary,expert interview,questionnaire survey,mathematical statistics,and logic analysis,based on the current situation and influencing factors of high school men’s basketball team in Shan-bei region,the author follows up with 48 players and eight coaches.Specifically investigating the enrollment rate,training,participating,and academic conditions of the basketball players,facilities,school recognition,and the coaches,after visiting the provincial and municipal experts and scholars,and synthesizing their advice and opinions of on high school basketball development,the author finds the way out for the development of high school men’s basketball team in Shan-bei region,and provides references for the development and reform of high school basketball in Shaanxi Province,which offers theoretical support and practical possibility for the cultivation of reserve talents.Summary:(1)Of the men’s basketball team in high school,the coaches’ degree and major meet the criterion.The age distribution,career life and sport experience are reasonable.However,there are plenty of negative elements,such as more intermediate title, weaker scientific research ability,lower rate of learning on practical skills training,and the lack of specific standard on training allowance.(2)Great gap on the level of the coaches and athletes,and school recognition exists between the more and less developed schools in Shan-bei region.The degree of school recognition is one of the main factors which has great impact on the overall development of high school man’s basketball team in Shan-bei region.But according to the survey,parents’ approval rating is relatively high.(3)Conflicts among learning,training and competition are stills striking.The rate of elite athlete is low.The opportunity of entering into the higher school is impacted,because it is difficult for the players to get athlete grade certificate,which is one of the factors restricting the development of the team.After all,the main motivation of the athletes to participate in the basketball training is being accepted by a higher school.(4)The training time was stable,but the quality is relatively low.The intensity of the pre-game assembled training is great,and tactical training is the primary type.Facilities meet certain criterion,but the investment is inadequate.The level and scale of the competitions is relatively low.(5)The achievement of school basketball team is relatively poor,which is closely attached to the emphasis of school leadership and financial investment.Admissions policies and the selection is unbalanced,unreasonable,non-standard and imperfect.Suggestions:(1)Support and encourage coaches to take part in the national and provincial training courses,and apply the advanced ideas and methods into practice.Improve education degree and scientific research ability of the coaches,and increase the chances for the coaches to attend professional skills training.(2)Conflicts among learning,training and competition can be resolved through “small-class teaching” mode.After training and matches,extra tutoring would provide the players for the care from the school and coaches,which strengthens their sense of belonging,responsibility and honor.(3)High schools and education department in Shan-bei region should enhance the emphasis on the development of basketball team,offer certain auxiliary policies,do the work well in talents recruitment,find the strategy for school basketball team development,and improve the competitive level of high school basketball in Shan-bei region.(4)Relevant departments should organize more types of high school basketball competitions regularly to solve the current problem of the lack of opportunities to joy in the games,which can help improve the players’ ability of reading and interpreting games,accordingly improve the competitive level of high school basketball in Shan-bei region.
