The reform of senior chemistry curriculum pays more attention to cultivate students' ability. Taking Principles of Chemical Reactions in book four of common senior chemistry curriculum for example, I conduct the empirical research of using mind mapping in chemistry teaching. The first case teaching is a reviewing class, whose aims are to arouse students' interest and show them what is mind mapping. The second case teaching is a new lesson, in which the teacher does a mind mapping during summary section with the help of the reviewing part of "guided learning plans" to help students gradually form a learning habit that contains logic previewing with summary, listening to teachers with aims, summarizing with logic and practicing with reflection. The third case teaching is also a reviewing class. Students are asked to finish a mind mapping of reviewing units in groups so that they can build net knowledge of each unit. Meanwhile, it can test students how much do students master and apply mind mapping. Thus, the methods and modes of applying mind mapping in chemistry teaching are formed. There are several features of this paper. On the one hand, in terms of applied cases, they are all contents of Principles of Chemical Reactions. Trying applying mind mapping in these teaching contents provides references for theory teaching in the future. On the other hand, the ways of applying mind mapping. This research combines mind mapping with preview part and summary part in guided learning plans, which builds a great bridge between obligatory courses and selective courses. Thus, the net of knowledge is formed.Practice researches prove that mind mapping can stimulate students to link, accelerate them to build net of knowledge, and cultivate students' (?) thinking ability, elevate their creative ability and divergent thinking ability and then improve the teaching of Principles of Chemical Reactions and their school results.
