English reading comprehension plays an important role in English teaching of junior middle school.Although English teaching at the present stage has been advocating the new curriculum reform,there are a lot of teachers influenced by the traditional teaching methods in which teachers focus on learning of grammars,vocabularies and sentences.Teachers ignore the students' overall understanding about the text,and students can not understand the text as a whole.Basing on the observation of English reading teaching in junior middle school and previous study,the author tries to apply the Information Transition Device into the English reading teaching in junior middle school in order to improve the students' interest of English reading and English reading scores.This paper mainly studies whether the teaching of English reading under the guidance of Information Transition Device can improve students' interest of English reading,their ability of using strategies and their English reading scores.The research subjects are the students of Class 1 and 2,Grade 7 in Taosi junior middle school in Xiangfen.The two classes are divided into EC and CC.EC adopts Information Transition Device into reading teaching,while CC uses the traditional teaching method of English reading.During the experiment,the research instruments are tests and questionnaires.Questionnaires are used before and after the experiment which is to be researched the students' interest of English reading in two classes.The students of two classes take part in the pre-test and post-test,and then the scores are collected,and the scores of the students are analyzed by SPSS software.The results of the experiment are as follows:(1)Through the comparison between EC and CC about the results of pre-test and post-test,reading scores of EC have the obvious progress.It means that the reading teching under the guidance of Information Transition Device can improve students' reading scores.(2)After the experiment,students can consciously expand the reading amount,take the initiative to do some preview before reading,and do some reasoning.All of these indicate that the students' reading attitude is becoming more and more positively and the reading habits and methods are more scientific and effective.Meanwhile,the English reading teaching under guidance of Information Transition Device can help students improve their ability of using strategies.(3)Under the guidance of Information Transition Device,the reading teaching focuses on reading process,text structure and the application of cultural background knowledge.This kind of teaching makes students enjoy the reading process,which can improve students' reading interest and self-confidence.
