Service-learning rose in 1960 s and had a great impact on the development of American teacher education.The service-learning links school curriculum to community service,strengthens the connection of pre-service teachers' theoretical knowledge and practical knowledge,cultivates their sense of social responsibility,promotes the development of community development,and gets attention and recognition of American society.In order to summarize successful experience of service-learning in American teacher education and excavate its helpful experience to the educational practice of normal university students in China,the paper does some related research to service-learning in the following aspects.There are five sections in this paper.The first chapter of the paper is introduction,which introduces the selection of the study,theoretical significance and practical significance of the study,generalizes present study of domestic and foreign,and then put forwards research ideas and methods.The second chapter introduces theoretical knowledge of the service-learning.At first,connotation,historical development and theoretical basis of service-learning are introduced.And then introduces its instructional design and implementation processes.At last,introduces quality indicators and characteristic of the service-earning.The third chapter introduces the implementing situations of service-learning in Binghamton University and San Francisco State University,and generalizing the specific implementation situation of service learning in American teacher education.Generalizes the implementation situation of service-learning in American teacher education,in order to provide useful information to educational practice of normal university students in China.The fourth chapter introduces the value of integrating service-learning into teacher education from the perspective of pre-service teachers and teacher educators.The fifth chapter summarizes the successful experience of service-learning in American teacher education.At the same time,combining the development situation of teachereducation in China,summarizing enlightenment of America service-learning to the development of teacher education in China,especially providing useful information to strengthen educational practice of normal university students in China.
