Music,as one of the most ancient infectious arts,serves as an important part of the spiritual life of mankind.Music education is believed as a major branch of education domain and a compulsory course in basic education as well as an important approach to aesthetic education.Thanks to the rapid development of modern science and technology,the application of information technology to educational field has ushered in a new model for music teaching,thus giving fresh impetus and support to the reform of traditional music teaching model and marking a distinctive feature of music teaching in the new era.In 2003,Ministry of Education promulgated the Standard for the Music Curriculum of High School(Experimental),setting clear the course orientation,course nature,course concept,teaching objectives,teaching content,teaching method and evaluation format of music course.In accordance of the development trend of music education in high schools and the teaching practice of the author,this paper offers an in-depth research into how to optimize the music classroom teaching with information technology.This paper falls into 5 chapters.The Introduction mainly expounds which includes the research background,research overview,research objectives,content,significance and the organization structure.The first chapter is the Information Technology Theory and Music Classroom Teaching in High School,which expounds on the theoretical basis of the application of information technology to music class,the concepts and objectives of music education in high school and the internal relationship between information technology and music classroom of high school with much emphasis on constructivism theory,multiple intelligence theory,visual art theory,humanistic theory and the necessity and feasibility of the application of information technology to music classroom teaching in high schools.The second chapter introduces the Application of Information Technology to Music Classroom Teaching in High Schools by taking Henan Luohe No.4 Senior High School where the author works as the example and setting forth the application of information technology to teachers-dominated and students-centered teaching respectively.However,this part lays much stress on the application of information technology to "teachers-dominated---students-centered" teaching through the"subject study-cooperative learning" model and "monographic study-website development" model.The third chapter is the Issues in the Application of Information Technology to High School Music Classroom and the Countermeasures.The issues are mainly evidenced by the deviation of the teachers ' concepts,insufficient usage of information technologies by teachers,routinized classroom teaching and scarce capacity to utilize information technologies by students.The countermeasures are introduced from improving the skill level of music teachers,Rich way of the application of information technology,Do a good job in the development of teaching resources sharing and encouraging to guide students independent learning.The fourth chapter is the Conclusion,which elaborates on the authors' thoughts about the application of information technology to high school music class and suggests to integrate the traditional teaching,teachers' instruction and students' self-learning.
