Under the continuous development of compulsory education in our country, the western region has become one of the important tasks of balanced development of education. The arrival of the big data era brings an opportunity to the balanced development of education. When the new data mining and visualization technologies apply to the education data of the western region, the educational situation can be analyzed and the education development can promoted in the western region. The education department of Shigatse has accumulated a large amount of valuable educational data in recent years.But these data have not been utilized effectively. So the thesis expects data mining and visualization technologies to be applied to these educational data so that the education and teaching in Shigatse can be analyzed comprehensively and be promoted healthy.This thesis first introduces the importance of data mining and visualization technologies in the field of education, expounds the current situation of basic education in Shigatse, and analyzes the current situation of data mining and visualization at home and abroad. Then, the basic theory of decision tree and association rule algorithms and visualization technology in data mining are introduced in detail.The thesis focuses on the application of data mining and visualization technologies to study the quality of basic education teaching of Shigatse according to various types of test scores and teacher speciality level test scores in past three years. Firstly, the data cleaning,conversion and protocol of exam results in 24 junior middle schools in Shigatse were studied. Based on the decision tree C4.5 algorithm, the information of each attribute, the information entropy and the information gain rate were calculated and the results were analyzed, then build performance analysis and decision tree. Finally, one conclusion has been obtained that the mathematics subject has the greatest impact on students' total scores.Besides, the Apriori algorithm was used to study the results of the examination, and the valuable information was found through the search and calculation of frequent item sets that the three courses of mathematics, physics and chemistry have strong relevance.In the aspect of data visualization, using bitmap, thermal map, radar map, line graph and other views have been used, and interactive technology has also been introduced to study the quality of education visualization of Shigatse from multi-dimension and multi-perspective. The results show that the development of education in the central and western regions of Shigatse is lagging behind, the problems of weak subjects are remarkable. the speciality level of teachers needs to be improved. Although the quality of education in Shigatse is in the upper level of Tibet, the gap between Shigatse and other provinces and cities inland is still large.Finally, it summaries the main research achievements of the thesis and make the prospects.
