On Development Traits And Educational Guidance Of Contemporary College Students' Spiritual Lives

Spiritual life plays an important role in college students' growths and processes to success. To provide educational guidance which is more scientific and effective, grasping development traits of contemporary college students' spiritual lives is the point. However,in real life, college students do not quite understand the spiritual life, so it is impossible for them to solve the matters that hider their self-developments, caused by their low-quality spiritual lives. To solve this issue, first is to let college students know the meaning of spiritual life, including the basic content and structure; then is the function of spiritual life. The study of spiritual life should begin with the exploration of spirit, soul,consciousness and thought, and gradually developing into the research of individual spiritual life.Researching the development traits of contemporary college students' spiritual lives should mostly base on those dimensions in the structural divisions of spiritual life, such as: beliefs, values and recreation, but the study of traits couldn't be restricted to the spiritual life, contemporary college students are effected by the macro social environment where they stand, including economical globalization, social transformation period,network society and the micro environment, including family environment and school environment, those multiple influences should be taken into consideration. In addition,the process of those traits' development is dynamic. Not only traits, but also the tendency of the development should be presented. Therefore, there are two research methods in this research, one is the synthetic comparison of the former generations' spiritual lives traits,the other is the summary of contemporary students' spiritual lives traits. After research found that the feature of ego and autonomy have a further performance in contemporary college students' spiritual lives; the tendency of reasoned and practical attitudes will have a persistent existence; diverse and dynamic development become regular; open and interactive development will be strengthened; but also some imbalances will occur inevitably during the development.Concerning the development traits presented in contemporary college students'spiritual lives, there are some obvious improvement in some aspects compared with the former generations, but also there are some new problems caused by environment change and other factors, some are potential, some have already shown the signs. College students may be worried and mess up in those problems, but sometimes they even couldn't find the problem. The guidance of education can help educators find those matters sensitively, and taking some educational guidance strategies.As spiritual life is grown out of one's inmost world, the most important thing is to enlighten and guide students, rein in their subjectivity, that is to say, religion education and psychological education should be enhanced in the curriculum of college students'ideological and political education; and more special campus activities should be carried out; good campus cultural atmosphere should be created, discovering the spiritual resources around college students; good network cultural environment should be built, let students use network rationally. Finally, it still important to improve college students'self-conscious attitudes by reading, practicing and restraining in privacy, then gradually improving the quality and level of their spiritual lives.
