In the context of the new curriculum reform and educational information construction, the traditional method of teaching listening can no longer conform to the trend of the Information Age and satisfy the students' learning needs in the online era. In the meantime, the flipped classroom teaching mode, which originates in the U.S., has drawn a wide range of attention due to its great advantages. Educators in China are also trying to put it into practice in their practical teaching. In order to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of this teaching method, this thesis will discuss the application of the flipped classroom teaching mode in junior English listening.Based on the previous research results and the teaching practice, this thesis clarifies a new flipped classroom teaching mode in junior English listening, which can be divided into two parts, before class and in class. The teacher is supposed to prepare a short course video and a listening task list before class. And then the students will watch the video and finish the listening tasks by themselves, after which they can give the teachers immediate feedback about their problems. After that the teacher will collect these problems and decide what to teach according to the data. And in class, the students will discuss in groups to work out the answers and their problems. The teacher's role is to give them instructions and help them solve problems when necessary. In the end, the students are supposed to consolidate what they've learned by all kinds of exercise. In order to make it clear, this thesis will offer specific example. From October, 2016 to March, 2017, a six-month survey was conducted. And in the process of the study, comprehensive methods are used, such as questionnaires, experimentation, interview, etc. After analyzing the data of the questionnaires, comparing the students' marks and summarizing the interview results, I find that it's quite feasible for the flipped classroom teaching mode to be used in junior English listening, and it does arouse the students' interest in listening and improve their listening abilities.Despite the fact that the flipped classroom teaching mode has great advantages that no other teaching modes can match, it takes time to develop. Therefore, when carrying out this teaching mode in practice, teachers are supposed to make good preparations before class, strengthen supervision and management in class and attach great importance to consolidation after class. Only in this way, can the effect of the flipped classroom teaching mode be maximized.
