Through the teaching research based on the core concept, it can effectively promote the teachers to teach better and the students learn better.Core concept is a very broad concept, which contains a number of important concepts as support. In the specific study of the core concepts of a subject, the first step is to sort out these important concepts as support. "Metabolism" theme is the first learning problems in high school biology, college entrance examination is the focus on the content, the first step of our research is to sort out the important concepts of cell metabolism "theme.In this paper, through the comparative analysis of "2017 college entrance exam outline", biological "ordinary high school biology curriculum standard" and teaching materials, to tease out the "2 core concepts of cell metabolism" theme, namely "the survival of cells need nutrients, cell survival needs energy". With 50 subjects in the textbooks from the fact analysis, identified 8 important concepts in two core concepts:"under the jurisdiction of the animal and plant cell survival needs water absorption"and"biofilm fluid mosaic model", "materials in and out of the cell through membrane, cell metabolism cannot do without enzyme catalysis" ATP, "for the life activities of the direct energy", "cellular respiration is the major source of ATP" "life system energy of light is the ultimate source of photosynthesis fixed, photosynthesis and respiration in organisms can at the same time".After choosing the important concepts, we can study the progressive levels of these concepts by learning progress theory. There are two types of learning progress research,one is the concept of a different period of long time measurement on the time dimension,from the dimension of content construction learning is the study of a specific period, the progressive level between the important concept of a subject, this study is second.There are many ways to build learning progress, based on the literature, we can put the whole process is expressed as: creating a learning progress measurement model -design selection hypothesis - testing tool learning progress modified four steps, and began to carry out the following study:The first step is to construct the learning hypothesis.
