Questioning is a good foundation of communication.It is an instructional method used widely,a communication tool for teachers and students,a classroom interactive way and a part of effective teaching.Excellent teaching always relatives to questions.The quality of questioning influences on the quality of teaching.American researchers dedicated to study classroom questioning behavior.Their research results are rich and they put forward a lot of questioning techniques.Such as suitable questions' levels and patterns,questioning strategies,questioning principles.The levels of questions have to do with them.In this paper,it plans to summarize and analysis the US scholars of classroom questioning techniques' researches.It will focus on the research results.Finally,it will provide some references for pre-service and in-service teachers in order to improve their questioning techniques.The thesis is divided into five chapters.First,the introduction clarifies the reasons to study and overviews the situation of the researches of US classroom questioning techniques in domestic and foreign.The core concepts involved in the thesis are defined.The research ideas and research methods are briefly introduced.Chapter I introduced the purpose and value of questioning.This chapter tries to summarize research conclusions of this topic and find out the purpose of questioning.Chapter II introduces the questions' patterns.Question Classification is diverse and different researchers classify it differently.This chapter plans to overview the questions classification system.The questions are divided into two-level and multi-level classification system.Chapter III introduces questioning principles.It mainly focuses on the teachers questioning behavior to analysis the principles,including teachers and students.Chapter IV introduces the questioning strategies from eight aspects.It includesdescription of the problem should be clear,detailed and precise,effective questions,all kinds of questions,leave time to students to answer and so on.It aims to use the questioning strategies better.In the last chapter,it returns to reflection and reference of American Teachers' questioning techniques research.It appeals people to pay attention to thepre-service and in-service teachers questioning training and apply proposals to improve the quality of teachers' questioning.
