Communicative language testing has become the focus of attention for many scholars,which takes up an important position in the testing theory.Communicative language testing has a great influence on foreign language teaching.The essence of communicative language testing is about the testing of how to use the communicative language appropriately and accurately to complete the communicative task in the real context,and to cultivate the communicative competence.To use language appropriately and accurately is the final goal of foreign language teaching.Therefore,to study on the theories and practices of communicative language is important.While English teachers who make the English examination paper overemphasis on the acquisition of language form but not the combination of language form and function.So that they fail to use the foreign language appropriately and the ideal communicative effects can not be reached.In recent years,students' individual skills acquisition of competence,like listening and speaking are the focus and start of the previous studies,while the comprehensive communicative competence is seldom mentioned,and few is the research in testing at senior high school in the framework of Bachman's Communicative Language Testing.The main purpose of the study is to investigate the present situation of the achievement testing in middle high school and analyze the causes of the problem then give some suggestions to improve the quality of testing and to improve English teachers' communicative awareness in the process of language testing making,in the meantime,to cultivate theirs' and students' communicative awareness and competence,at last,to promote the language teaching quality.Five final exam papers from Senior two in five different middle high school in Haikou were chosen as the samples analyzed in the research.Literature review and sample analysis were used to investigate the context of the achievement testing.Results showed that there existed many faults on the testing.Teachers had a lower communicative awareness and communicative competence,they failed to integrate communicative language factors into the testings,so that students' communicative language awareness and ability could not be improved for long.The researcher tried to dig out the main causes from these findings,then put forward several solutions to improve the testing quality and teachers' communicative competence.To strengthen the English examination paper makers(middle school teachers)'awareness of the communicative and integrate the communicative factors in language testing is the major aim of this investigation.Finally,the researcher would stick to studying the communicative language testing and to do a bit for the development of foreignlanguage teaching in the future.
