In the highly developed society in the 21st century,we have entered a knowledge economy of the information age,and the community’s demand for talent is getting higher and higher.With the deepening of educational reform,reading has become an effective way to cultivate high-quality talents,especially in economically developed and resource-rich and medium-sized cities.Whether in society,school or family,people are increasingly aware of the importance of extracurricular reading and its values.At the same time,the new curriculum reform also raised extracurricular reading to a very important position.However,in the ever-changing modern science and technology today,primary school students on electronic products,online games,the interest is much higher than reading extracurricular books.In addition,the market sale-on books vary greatly;this seriously affects the quality of reading students.As a first-line primary education worker,it is our duty to open a broad reading world for students,to stimulate their interest in reading,to develop good reading habits,to read happily,to acquire knowledge and skills and to establish the right values and outlook on life.When the pupils are curious and fantastic about the world,they lay a reading seed to guide them in the colorful world of reading culture,and gradually grow into a sound personality,and they will be able to adapt to future social development needs and challenges Talent.In the recently published "Teaching Suggestions" section of the "Curriculum Standard for Compulsory Education(2011)",it is proposed that "we should pay attention to cultivating students’extensive reading interest,expanding reading face,increasing reading fields and improving reading taste.Besides,it advocates fewer questions,more reading,reading good habits,reading good books and a whole book.And it also encourages students to choose their own materials.It strengthens the guidance of extracurricular reading,and the workers should carriy out various extracurricular reading activities for the students,create opportunities for presentation and communication,and create a good atmosphere for everyone to love reading.Every reform about the elementary school language curriculum has been raised to a more important position,and the extra-curricular reading has put forward higher and higher requirements.Therefore,we,the primary school language teachers,should deeply understand the spirit of curriculum reform,change the concept of education and teaching,and constantly explore new ideas on children’s reading,strategy,and carry out effective practical activities.At present,the education sector is paying more and more attention to reading teaching and a more unique class reading mode has been formed,such as the Dou Guimei theme reading teaching research,and it is very mature.However,for the study of extracurricular reading mode,the existing systems are immature yet.The Group reading is the current representative,but the activities as a carrier to carry out extracurricular reading system research have yet not to be mature.The middle school students in our study are 8-9 years old,and this stage of children’s literacy,cognitive understanding and learning habits after a second grade training and accumulation have a certain foundation.But this age group of children self-awareness began to establish,and their emotional always change frequently,and their willpower is poor,so it is difficult for them to complete reading as much as possible with adults,and they need correct guidance and help from their teachers and parents.Rich and colorful extracurricular reading activities can maximize the mobilization of students on the extracurricular reading of the enthusiasm and attention,and can eliminate students’ reading psychological barriers to achieve higher quality reading.Extracurricular reading has a close relationship with the cultivation of high-quality personnel and improving the degree of social civilization.Therefore,it is worth to think and explore the study of extracurricular reading in the middle school.This research is based on the author’s teaching school,Nanning Democratic Road Primary School,and the actual situation of the students.This full text is divided into five parts.The first part is about the origin of the research from four aspects:the development of the times,the cultivation of talents,the curriculum reform and the extracurricular reading of primary school students.Secondly,it is the theoretical explanation of the study of extracurricular reading of middle school students,and it is mainly based on the theory of activity,constructivism learning theory,cognitive structure learning theory and recent development area theory.The second part is the interpretation and analysis of the value and present situation of primary school students’ extracurricular reading.We have investigated the status quo of extracurricular reading for the higher middle school students in our school.We have made a careful analysis of the problems that exist,the limited time of students’ reading,the lack of reading methods,the limited reading resources and the lack of reading quality.The third part is the activity as a carrier of extracurricular reading;it expounds its connotation and puts forward the main principles of carrying on the research of this subject,including the clear goal,intense appreciation,multi-evaluation,orderly steps,delightful and colorful principles.The fourth part focuses on the implementation of this research from the enrichment of both the internal and external activities of the carrier.It provides a reference to the extracurricular reading activity mode.The extracurricular reading activities in the school,it is the easiest to operate for teachers,and the students in the collective will be more quickly into them.The school carrier is mainly carried out around the classroom,including the connection between Class reading and extracurricular reading,the promotion of extracurricular reading in class reading.After school,it is to carry out a variety of reading activities.The extracurricular carrier is more emphasis on the social life experience and the effective integration of extracurricular reading,as well as the promotion of family education.The fifth part is the summary of the effect of this research.
