| The concept of ecology has integrated our national education and has offered some new view for our educational study since 20 th century.Using the ecological theory to study educational phenomenon can improve the quality of education effectively.Thus,some researchers set up the “ecology of classroom”,and utilized its theory to built up ecological classroom,which can help to provide the basis for classroom teaching.However,it can be found that there are much more theoretical discussions about classroom ecology in present studies at home and abroad than those about integrating the theories with classroom practice,and there are much less about English classroom in senior high school.To set up a benign ecological classroom and promote more effective teaching,the author carries out the study on current situation of English classroom ecology in senior high school.The methods of literature research,questionnaire,classroom observation and interview were used in this paper.The author chose 300 senior high school students from three different schools in Sanming,as the research subjects.This study aims to investigate the following questions:1.What are the main impact factors affecting the classroom ecology? And how about their relationship?2.How about the teachers’ teaching and students’ learning as the subject of ecology in senior high schools?3.How about the classroom environment as the object of ecology in senior high schools?The data of questionnaire were analyzed by factor analysis of SPSS21.0 data analysis,combining classroom observation and interview,the following results can be showed: 1)the main impact factors affecting the classroom ecology include the teachers’ teaching,students’ state in learning and the classroom environment.2)these three factors have close correlation with each other.The study results show that there are some deficiencies in current English classroom,such as the unvaried teaching material,traditional teaching,incorrect usage of multimedia,the passive attitude of students’ learning and the students’ poor basis;as to the English classroom environment in senior high school,there are also some negative aspects,such as teaching in big class sizes,seating arrangement like seeding bed,the simple decoration of classroom and imperfect hardware and so on.Based on the above study results,the author also put forward some practical suggestions from teachers’ teaching,the state of students’ study and the classroom environment to optimize the English classroom ecology in senior high school. |
