| From the very beginning of the 1990s, a revolutionary change - the new curriculum reform began. People started to explore new teaching methods and learning methods to promote the overall development of students.During this process, game-based learning (or educational game) has gradually become a new research and practice hot spots. Relaxed and pleasant learning/game situations can be created to promote learners to actively enter the learning state. So that they can learn more in a short time and then improve the efficiency of information technology instruction in junior high school. People also expected to cultivate students’problem-solving ability, collaborative learning ability, creative thinking ability and other advanced learning ability by the interest and mechanism of the game.This study has chosen the game-based learning as the application mode of information technology teaching. The "Information Technology" of junior middle school teaching material published by Hubei Education Press was taken as the experimental teaching material. The students of NO. 1 Junior Middle School attached to CCNU in Wuhan, Hubei province were taken as the object of study. It takes a semester to carry on this study. The students were put into three groups in this study; the first group was given class by traditional methods, while the other two groups were taken classes by applying game-based methods. Finally, effective conclusion were given by the experiment.This paper is divided into five parts: The first part mainly introduces the research background, the research purpose, the significance and the research method. The second part is the summary of the game-based learning and the related theoretical foundation,and research status at Home and Abroad. The third part is about some prepare of game-based learning strategy. This part mainly summarizes the game-based learning methods and related strategies for the instruction of information technology in junior middle school. The fourth part mainly discusses the application of learning strategies in junior middle school information technology teaching, and explores its effect through action research. The last part is the summary of this study and some prospects for this study.The following conclusions were found through this study:(1) There is a great potential to put the strategy of game-based learning into the junior information technology. (2) Inquiry- game- based learning strategies is the relative suitable strategy for the theoretical knowledge close to the real life; ( 3 ) There are certain gender differences between boys and girls in the game-based learning strategies’applying in class. |
